Obituary for Mrs. Vickie Conway Funeral services for Mrs. Vickie Conway, 62, of Carthage, Texas will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Vickie Lea Davis Conway was born December 10, 1955 in Carthage, Texas to J.W. and Eloise Tyre Davis and passed away May 25, 2018 at her home in Carthage. Vickie was raised and schooled in Carthage and graduated from Carthage High School. She married Rickey Conway on July 25, 1980 and together they celebrated 37 years. Vickie worked for over 20 years for the U.S. Post Office in Henderson. She was a member of the Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler and loved reading, planting flowers, spending time with family and attending her grandchildren’s games. She is preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Conway is survived by her loving husband, Rickey Conway of Carthage; children, Stephen Hammons and wife Lacy of Beckville, Brent Lee Hammons and wife Elizabeth of Bullard, Krystal Conway of Flint; grandchildren, Colten Allen, Brett Austin Hammons, Stephen Bo Hammons, Alexander Cole Hammons, Abby Grace Hammons, Lindsey Coleman, Molly Coleman, Lainey Coleman; brother, Jimmy Davis and wife Mary Lue of Carthage; sister, Frances McGrede and husband Don of Longview; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Hammons, Brent Hammons, Colten Allen, Brett Hammons, Bill Davis and Steve Dinnerville.
