Scott Walter Starjak, age 58, died in San Antonio, TX on May 2, 2018. Scott was born on Apr 23, 1960 to Michael Starjak Jr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Thumm in Ottawa, IL. He attended Ottawa public schools, graduating from Ottawa High School in 1978. Scott worked at Carretto’s Bar and Bowling Alley for a few years before joining the Navy in 1985. He left the Navy in 1989 and worked in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. He moved to San Antonio, TX in 2013 and worked for Best Buy until his death. He loved watching White Sox and Cubs baseball games. He bowled a perfect 300 game when he was a young man. He had a special love for fellow veterans. Scott is preceded in death by his parents; his Stepmother, Betty; his brothers, Stanley and Daniel Starjak; and his sister, Michaela (Miki). He is survived by his sister, Joy Algate, (Rex) of Converse, TX and sister-in-law Nan Lambert Starjak of La Vernia, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service with military honors will be held May 12, 2018 at 1 P.M.at Northern Hills United Methodist Church, 3703 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78247. Inurment will be at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran’s organization. Arrangements are under the care of Meadowlawn Memorial park & Crematory.
