Robert “Bobby” Grashel of Cedar Hill, Texas passed away on May 26, 2018. Bobby was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1952. “Chief” saved many lives and made an impact on many as a faithful servant in the Cedar Hill Fire Department for 33 years. He loved to fight fires, help people, chase tornadoes, catch some snakes, cheer for the the New York Yankees, watch Andy Griffith and drink a whole lot of Dr. Pepper. He is preceded in death by the love of his life Kathy, his parents and his godson Andrew Porter. He is survived by his children; Misti Shelburn and husband, Bill, Arenda Phillips, Ritchie Grashel and wife, Lesa, and Kelli Grashel and fiancé, Blaise Steffes, his grandchildren; Clay, Taylor, Cori, Sterling and Charlie; his beloved sister, Brenda and her husband, John; his sister, Debbie, many nieces and nephews that adored him, best friends, Greg and Pam Porter and their children and an entire brotherhood in the fire department. It was a good ride Chief and we’re all better for knowing you. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29th at Jayne’s Memorial Chapel from 6-8 p.m. and his life will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 30th at the First Baptist Church of Cedar Hill at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would love donations made in his name to https://firefightercancersupport.org.
