Kathryn Ann Harrison August 10 1963 May 24 2018

Obituary for Kathryn Ann Harrison Kathy Harrison finally found peace, after a long, valiant battle, on the afternoon of May 24, 2018. She slipped peacefully into eternal life, surrounded by family and loved ones. Kathy’s story began on August 10, 1963, on another warm day in San Antonio, Texas. She was born into an Air Force family and her formative years were spent traveling around the globe. Who else can say they grew up within a stone’s throw of Knossos, the ancient Minoan palace on Crete? Or that they were adored, as she was, by the next door neighbors, an elderly Greek couple who absolutely delighted in the little blonde girl’s sunny and bubbly personality. Upon her father’s retirement, the family settled in Euless, Texas. She proudly graduated from Trinity High School and we would be remiss without mentioning that one of her favorite high school memories was playing a nun in the senior production of “The Sound of Music”, her very favorite film and stage play. “Scooter”, as she was affectionately called by her co-workers, began a long and enjoyable career at American Eagle Airlines. Her tenure as a gate agent was felicitous, for what irate or ill-tempered traveler could remain so in front of this sweetly diminutive ambassador of good will. And it was this gorgeous personality that attracted the future love of her life, a fellow worker named Jerry. It didn’t take long for the two of them to realize they were meant for each other, and they were happily married for the next 18 years. Kathy lived a full and content life and enjoyed the simple pleasures. She loved the theater, flowers, and her cats, not least of all the one she left behind. Beanie (who was decidedly not underfed!). And it should be noted that it was virtually impossible for her to pass up a Buccee’s. Kathy “Scooter” Harrison is survived by her dear and loving husband, Jerry Harrison. Additionally, she is survived by her three older brothers, Dick, Bob and Ron Olsen, as well as her cousin, who might as well have been a sister, Diane Hopkins Taylor. A host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and her step-sisters, Tracie and Dody, will dearly miss Kathy. She is preceded in death by her mother , Mary Ann Cox, and her father, Bill E. Olsen. Kathy’s service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30th, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd., Hurst, TX. Visitation will be a half hour prior to the service. After the service, a short graveside ceremony will take place at Bluebonnet Hills in Colleyville.
