Mr. Joey Don Green, age 61, of Longview, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at his home. Joey was born in Big Sandy, Texas on January 26, 1957 to the late Billie Joe and Emily (Burcham) Green. Joey was a graduate of Gilmer High School in 1975, and attended ETBU. He was married on Independence Day in 1991 in Hallsville, to the former Kelly Callahan. Joey enjoyed bass fishing, deer hunting, spending time with family and friends at cookouts and crawfish boils. He loved to watch his sons travelling baseball team, cheer on the Hallsville Bobcats Baseball Team, and keep up the Gilmer Buckeyes. Joey was a loving husband and father, and will be truly missed by those he loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Green of Longview; two sons, Cody Green of Hallsville, Tanner Green of Longview; daughter, Kelsi Green of Longview; sister, Saundra Bork and husband Kent of Garland; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Joey’s life will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Longview First Assembly with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Longview First Assembly, 2900 N Fourth St, Longview, TX 75605 in Joey’s memory.
