George Gordon Grim 1932 2018

Obituary of George Grim George Grim passed away peacefully at Keller Oaks Healthcare Center on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the age of 85. George was born in Dannebrog, Nebraska on October 24, 1932. He married his wife, Betty in Grand Island, Nebraska on August 11, 1973 and after a long career as a home builder, he and Betty moved to Texas in 1988. While in Texas he worked as an apartment maintenance man until his retirement. George was an avid sports fan. The Nebraska Cornhuskers were his favorite team, but he was also a fan of the Dallas Mavericks, Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. His favorite pastime was watching a sporting event on TV and giving a commentary after the game. Survivors include a brother, Dale (Nellie) of Grand Island, NE; a daughter Tammy Shanahan (Tom) of Gregory, SD; stepdaughters Cheryl Arment (Gerry) of Keller, TX and Sandra Lange (Donald) of Fort Laramie, WY; grandchildren April, Amber and Jennifer; step grandchildren Brenda, Kyle, Kara, and Noelle; step great grandchildren, Malachi, Clayton and Kinsley; 8 additional step grandchildren and 25 additional great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lemuel and Elta, several brothers and sisters, and his wife Betty. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park in North Richland Hills, TX. Graveside services will be held at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2018. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the ALS Association Texas Chapter located at 5830 Granite Parkway, #100-320, Plano, TX 75024 or go to www.alstexas.org.
