Obituary for Arnulfo S. Esparza Arnulfo S. Esparza, born January 19, 1933 in Medina County, passed away on May 22, 2018. Arnulfo was a proud veteran that served honorably in the United States Army. He enjoyed his western movies, music, and his family. Arnulfo worked at Fort Sam Houston, and retired after 30 years from civil service. He fought a very long and courageous battle with cancer. Arnulfo was a warrior till the end. He is also remembered for his strong work ethic, and dedication to his family. Arnulfo is preceded in death by his wife Marina Esparza, parents Cecilio and Agustina Esparza, daughter Norma Alvarado, siblings Aurora Martinez, Rodolfo Esparza, and Avelino Esparza. He is survived by his daughter Rachel Esparza (Gilbert Martinez), sons Michael Esparza and Arnulfo Esparza Jr. (Alma), siblings Herlinda Rivera, Eva Barrientes, Alicia Sendejos, Robert Esparza, Richard Esparza, and David Esparza, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Hunters Pond Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care they provided. The visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Palm Heights Mortuary. The chapel service will be held at 12:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Palm Heights Mortuary. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
