Obituary for Perkins Veazey Perkins Veazey died May 9, 2018 surrounded by his family in Southlake, Texas. Mr. Veazey was born March 13, 1925 to Dora Edith (Stevens) and Brady Walter Veazey in Celina, Texas. He graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, Texas in 1944. Soon after, he joined the Navy and served his country in the Pacific during World War II. He married Frances J. Holloway in 1950. He began his 30-year career in the oil and gas industry with Humble Oil and Refining Company and retired from Exxon Corporation in 1979. Perkins, known to most of family and friends as “Red,” was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, his parents, his brother B. W. Veazey, and a sister Dorothy McIntire. He is survived by his sister, Marcie McIntire of Sweetwater, Texas; sons Randy (and wife Debra) of Austin, Texas; Rhad (and wife Kathryn) of Paradise, Texas; and D. LaRue Corbin (and husband Arnold) of Trophy Club, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren: John B. Veazey (and wife Natalia) of Denver, Colorado; Brandi J. Gitcho (and husband Greg) of Austin, Texas; Anna J. Lason (and husband Adam) of Moldova; Frances Belle Veazey of Garland, Texas; and Alex P. Corbin of Trophy Club, Texas. In addition he is survived by seven great grandchildren: Roark and Katia Veazey; Nicholas, Bryant and Sally Gitcho; and Brady and Aubree Lason. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice. Graveside Services with Military Honors are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
