Karen Sue Shaffer, age 58, born July 9, 1959, went home to be with the Lord on May 15th, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was a graduate of Fulton High School class of 1978. Karen was a life-long member of Oakwood Baptist Church where she worked with the children’s choir as well as singing with the praise band and choir. She was preceded in death by parents; Barbara A. and Leonard T. Shaffer. She is survived by brother; Steve Shaffer, sisters; Faye Newcomb, Phyllis Kirby and husband Chris, nieces; Brittany Kirby, Amanda Hill and husband Houston, Katlyn Watson and husband Blake, Mallory Newcomb, nephew; Corey Newcomb and fiancé Shelby Duke; great niece; Kennedy Hill. A Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6th at Oakwood Baptist Church, 111 E. Columbia Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. Please send memorials to Oakwood Baptist Church.
