Obituary for Joseph William Mims Joseph Mims, age 76, of Kingsport, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He attended Central Assembly of God Church, Kingsport, TN. He served in the United States Army. Joe worked for United Telephone in Kingsport and Naples, Fl. He retired from Holston Defense. He had a love for hunting and fishing. He loved to take road trips and usually ended up at some ocean. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis Spears Mims; parents, Grover R. Mims Jr. and Gladys W. Mims. Joseph is survived by his loving, son, Joseph William Mims, II and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Kayla Helton and husband Ray, Justin Mims; brother, Dr. Chip Mims and wife Peggy; special great granddaughter, Lydia Helton. The family will hold a celebration of life service Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Kingsport, Tennessee.
