George Brickman Way September 2 1925 May 30 2018 (age 92)

George Brickman Way, 92, widower of Connie Burbage Way, of Dorchester entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 3 P.M. Saturday June 2, 2018 in the Salem United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ronnie Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Dorchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Smith, Joe Way, Mike Walsh, Bobby Wylie, George Griffith and Ervin Way. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George and one hour before the service at the church. G.B. was born on September 2, 1925 in Dorchester, a son of the late George Brickman and Julia Etta Ross Way. He was a gunnery instructor at Naval Training Center on the Great Lakes, Illinois during WWII and retired as a sheet metal worker at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and Harleyville Egeria Lodge #71, AFM. He was the owner and operator of Pineland Shooting Club. He was predeceased siblings, Howard O’Neal Way, Sr., Ervin Ross “Buster” Way, Virginia Fulton, Miriam W. Abramson and Helen Griffith. Surviving is his sister, Donna Jean Brownlee, Dorchester, special friend of 20 years, Joyce McCrea, Salters; a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 157 Railway Ave., Dorchester, SC 29437.
