Douglas A. Procter, 68, formerly of Cumberland, was received into heaven on May 5, 2018, peacefully in his East Providence home. He was the beloved husband of Lisa A. Procter and son of late James & Alice Procter. A loving father to his three daughters and their spouses – Sara & Daniel Goldenberg; grandson Isaac of Connecticut, Alicia & Eric Garcia; granddaughters Victoria & Selena of Florida and Rachael & Ross Amaral of Massachusetts. A loving brother to Warren, Steven, Cheryl Alves, Jody Lesieur, their spouses and many nieces & nephews. Douglas was a wonderful husband as well as a hero and coach to his girls throughout their participation in sports over the years. He was an avid walker, often taking his companion dog, Vegas, and even completing the Ocean State Marathon in 2002. A US Army Veteran, Doug served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the local Teamsters #251. A dedicated UPS driver for over 25 years and a faithful choir member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Seekonk – Doug loved to sing! He was an excellent bowler and expert sandcastle builder, both activities he enjoyed with his wife, children and grandchildren. He could beat anyone in a game of Scrabble and loved a good game of cribbage. The beautiful life of Douglas will be celebrated with services on Wed, May 9 at 10:30AM from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, E. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Ave., Seekonk. Doug will be laid to rest at the Little Neck Historic Cemetery in Riverside, RI. Calling hours will be held from 6-8PM on Tuesday evening. Memorial donations in Douglas’ honor may be made to the RI Alzheimer’s Association or the American Brain Tumor Association for which his daughters will be running the 2018 Chicago Marathon in honor of their father – Team Dougies Daughters.
