Ronald W. Schnelzer, 85 of Harrisville, passed away peacefully, May 27, 2018 at the VNA Hospice house in Butler. Ronald was born May 6, 1933, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Louis and Anna Schnelzer. Ronald enlisted in the United State Army April 6, 1955 and was honorable discharged April 4, 1958. Ronald also served in the Army Reserves. While serving overseas in Austria Ron met his wife “Trudy” and the two wed June 16, 1956. Gertrude “Trudy” Plank Schnelzer passed away April 19, 1990. Together the couple had seven children. Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children; Jeannie Lanzilatti of Harrisville, Tom Schnelzer and his wife Pam of Grove City, Paul Schnelzer of Pittsburgh, Cathy Stewart and Kim of Mercer and Sandy Chesmire and her husband Mike of Georgia. Ronald is also survived by numerous grand and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife and two sons Michael F. and Ronald E. Schnelzer ; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Family will receive friends at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville PA Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral services will take place Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with an hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Pam Schnelzer, daughter in law of Ronald’s will be officiating the service. Internment will take place at the St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
