Obituary of Louis Luoma Louis Luoma, age 92, of Brookhaven, PA, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of Laurie and Sophie Luoma. Louis was a World War II Veteran who had joined the SeaBees (Construction Battalion) of the US Navy at age 17 and served in the South Pacific. Louis retired from Scott Paper Company where he worked as a machinist/maintenance mechanic. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed boating and fishing in Indian River Inlet in Delaware and in Seminole Florida, where he spent most of his retirement. He especially loved sailing and passed that love along to his children and grandchildren. He was the husband of Gertrude (McIntyre) who predeceased him in 1992, with whom he had five children. Jeffrey (the late Wendy) of New Castle DE, Kathleen McBride (Gary) of Colton’s Point MD; Gail Baker (Richard) of Brookhaven, PA; Cynthia Frazier (Tony) of Colombia SC; and Chris (Brenda) of Brookhaven, PA. Also predeceased by his second wife Helen (Laskey). Louis is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Todd, Daniel, Jill, Brian, Kathleen, Colin ,Dana, Samantha, Jack, Elizabeth, Lily, and Jay and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Saturday, April 21st 2018, from 10:30AM-12:00PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
