Obituary for Kathleen R.S. Jani Kathleen R.S. Jani, 88, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday May 21, 2018 at her home. She was the loving wife of Lawrence J. Jani with whom she shared over 22 years of loving marriage and the late George Sabolick. Born in Hellertown, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Szaradics) Mertus. Kathleen worked as a secretary for her husband Lawrence’s CPA Firm for 14 years until retiring. She also worked for Hellertown Manufacturing as a plug tamper. Kathleen was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Church where she was very active. She is currently a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Church, Bethlehem where she was active in the senior group. Survivors: she will be lovingly missed by her husband Lawrence; daughter Georgine Fontaine- Sago and her husband David of Bethlehem; step-children Donna Fetchko and her husband John of Whitehall and Laurence Jani; siblings Louis Mertus of Hellertown and Margarite Nyce of Telford. Kathleen is also survived by her grandchildren David Fontaine, Kevin Fontaine, Rachel Bradley and 5 loving great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Stephen Mertus and Francis Mertus. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W Broad St, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 prior to the mass. Burial will take place at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
