Leo David Shepler, 84, of Greenfield, formerly of Frankfort, died at 7:44 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home. He was born December 1, 1933 in Lyndon, the son of the late Walter and Elsie Marie Williams Shepler. On February 23, 1957 he married the former Julia Schlaegel who survives. Other survivors include two daughters; Vicki Smith of Greenfield and Jody (Marvin, Jr.) Barker of Jeffersonville, four grandchildren; Kyle and Adam Smith, Brandy Lewis and Jacob (Christine) Barker, two great-grandsons; Trenton Lewis and Colton Barker and one great grandchild on it’s way, one sister; Sandy Burns of South Bloomfield, three sisters-in-law; Carol Shepler of Circleville, Mary Speakman of Chillicothe, Martha Limle of Largo, FL, two brothers-in-law; Paul McCray and Joseph H. Schlaegel both of Chillicothe, dear friends; Dwayne Stewart of GA and Larry Burchett of Columbus and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother; Jack Shepler and two sisters; Lois Leeth and Bonnie McCray. David was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked for over twenty years as a driver for Murphy Freight Lines. He was a member of Teamster Local #413 of Columbus. He loved to fish and spend time watching Nascar #24. Friends and relatives can visit with Dave’s family on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Adena Health Foundation, Hospice, 272 Hospital Road, Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601.
