Obituary for James “Ray” Hale James “Ray” Hale, 86, of Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Willows at Willard. He was born on March 7, 1932, son of the late Warnie and Clara (nee Shipman) Hale. Ray, as he was known by most, had a way of making anyone he met feel happy. His sense of humor was present until the end and he expected his family in particular to look for the joy of each moment. His family was his first priority evidenced by the path he and his wife of 65 years blazed for his children. Ray was involved in his church as a dedicated man of faith. He invited all to join him in believing there is eternal life after life on earth and now anxiously waits for his family and friends to rejoin him. Ray’s hobbies included woodworking, Bluegrass music, and anything mechanical. His love for tinkering was only surpassed by his love for his family. He will be greatly missed, but the impact he made on others will continue for years to come, with his greatest contribution being the ones he leaves behind. Surviving Ray, are his wife, Wanda (nee Gibson) Hale; children, Gary (Vickie) Hale of Wedowee, AL, Jeff (Linda) Hale of Chico, CA and Karen (Rick) Robinson of Willard, OH; grandchildren, Annie Hale, Zane (Danielle) Hale, Samuel Hale, Karlee Hale, Zachary (Casey) Robinson, Bradyn (Morgan) Robinson and sister, JoAnn Hale of Willard. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by an infant son, Darrell Ray; brother, Bernice “Bun” and sister, Jeanette Drake. A visitation will be held from 2-6 pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich where a service will held on Monday at 10 am Rev. Thomas Gibson and Rev. Bart McKelvey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be held at the cemetery. Ray served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and later the Ohio Air National Guard. Memorial contributions in Ray’s honor can be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
