Obituary for Ella Mae (Trice) Scott Howard Ella Mae (Trice) Scott Howard, age 100, of Orrville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, and joined her husband, James, on Saturday, May 19, 2018. She was born on June 21, 1917, in Paducah, KY the daughter of Lillian and Lizzie (Holland) Trice. She was united in marriage to Clabon Scott who died October 30, 1972. She was later married to James Howard on November 25, 1978, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2017. Ella Mae was formerly employed as a nurse’s aide at Apple Creek Development Center and at Wayne General Hospital in Orrville. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Orrville where she was an emeritus deaconess, served on the usher board and many other church committees. Ella Mae enjoyed her family and friends, shopping, and working faithfully for the NAACP. She is survived by daughters, Florence (Paul) DeHart of Orrville, Rose M. Davis (Claude Tyler) of Wooster, Annie L. Crook of Columbus, and Carol Lynn Howard of Canton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special nephews, Richard “Dicky” Wilson, Tyrone (Ruth) Barnett, Dwight Barnett, Mike Barnett, and John Douglas Barnett; and caregiver, Sherry Troyer. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Droney, and a brother, Burnett Trice. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Orrville on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev’s Robert Golson, Les Howard, and Nathan Poole officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
