Duane Lunde, 85, of Wahpeton, ND passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at CHI St. Francis Medical Center, Breckenridge, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by the memorial service at 4:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton. Rev. Erika Buller will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. Duane Gene Lunde was born on December 19, 1932 to Orlin and Olive (Foseide) Lunde on a farm in Cavalier County, ND. He attended country school in Osford Township and Milton High School in Milton, ND. Duane worked at several elevators in Rollette, ND, Red Lake Falls, MN, Mekinock, ND, and Sanborn, ND. He moved to Wahpeton, ND in 1979 and managed the Froedtert Malting Plant and also the Briarwood Trailer Court until he retired in 1995. Duane married Charlotte Lunde in 1956. He later married Inez (Guthmiller) Kotschevar in Wahpeton in 1992. Duane was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a member of the Wahpeton Buffalo Club. He was a loving husband, father, and a great friend to many. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Duane is survived by his wife, Inez; one daughter, Kim (Carter) Hansen; four step-children, Brian Kotschevar, Karen (Kurt) Anderson, Joel (Chris) Kotschevar, and Julie (Michael) Bommersbach; 14 grandchildren: Jaden, Bridger, and Olivia Hansen, Alexis, Zane, and Lydia Kotschevar, Michael (Marissa), Lauren (Zach), and Jenna Anderson, Claire, Kate, and Brock Kotschevar, and Brody and Ella Bommersbach; great-grandchildren, Levi and Madelyn Anderson and Vivian Maas; a brother, Dennis (Judy) Lunde; nephews, James (Stacey) Lunde and Darrin Lunde; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Cynthia Lunde Hovda and Michael Lunde. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethel Lutheran Church.
