Obituary for Nellie Jones Nellie Tripp Jones, 59, of Vanceboro, made her Heavenly flight on May 28, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1958 to Leslie and Christine Tripp. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, John Ashley Jones. Nellie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Thad “Doodle” Jones Jr.; a son, Thad “TJ” Jones III and wife, Sherri; a special grandson, Hunter Chase Jones, whom Nanny loved so very much; two sisters, Candy Jenkins and Kay Sawyer and a brother, Leslie Tripp. She also leaves behind very special friends, her church family. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made in Nellie’s honor to Passion Church of God, P.O. Box 216, Vanceboro, NC 28586. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2pm at West Vanceboro Church of God, Hwy 43, West Vanceboro. Interment will follow in the Frank Tripp Family Cemetery, Pineyneck Rd., Vanceboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at the church from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
