Obituary for Marilyn Nell Betz (Tate) Marilyn Tate Betz, born August 9, 1937, went to be with our Lord on May 1, 2018 surrounded by her children. The daughter of the late Paul and Callie Tate from Sandy Mush, NC. Marilyn was a school teacher. She was a loving mother and devout Christian. She held a passion for art and her beautiful paintings reflect the beauty of her soul. The wife of the late Dave Betz, she is survived by her children, Suzy Carroll Miller, Sandy Anderson and Stephanie Carroll; siblings, Joyce Costner, Betty Jolley, Paul Tate, Jr. and Carol Roper; grandchildren, Jennifer Davis Wiggins, James Dixon Roberts, Daniel Thomas Miller and Alex Lee Mauney; great-grandchildren, Paisley Jo and Callie Dale Wiggins. She was loved by all who met her and she welcomed everyone as family. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life which will be held at her home, 713 Cedar Hill Drive, Shelby, NC on Sunday, May 6 from 1:00-3:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Hospice of Cleveland County. Her final struggle ended peacefully as she left this life to embrace her eternal life in Heaven. We shall continue to live our lives for God’s glory so that we may embrace her on the other side. Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations is caring for the family.
