Ade Lee Mitchell, 94, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Wayne County born February 23, 1924 to the late Wade Hampton and Maidie Jane Davis Peacock. Mrs. Mitchell and her husband, Leo Mitchell, who preceded her in death, worked hard on the family farm where she had various duties. She loved gardening, cooking and trying new recipes! She is survived by Maidie and Reuben Edwards of Seven Springs, Patsy Sauls of Fremont, Bonnie Mooring of Greensboro and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. The family would like to say a special thanks to Louise Owens and JoAnn Barnes and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Fremont Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 906, Fremont, North Carolina 27830. The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
