Obituary of Ida Gordon Ida Shapiro Gordon, age 101, of Boca Raton, FL, died Sunday evening, May 20th. Ida was born in Schuylerville, NY and was the daughter of the late David and Dora Shapiro. Ida lived in Albany for many years. She was a member of Temple Israel in Albany, the Shaker Ridge Country Club in Colonie, and a life member of Hadassah and the former Pioneer Women. Ida was married to Bernard Gordon for fifty years until his passing in 1989. Devoted mother of Paul Gordon (Rita Bauer) and the late Barbara Gordon and Michael Gordon (Donna); loving grandmother of David (Shari), Jeffrey (Kristin), and Eric Gordon, Debbie Gordon (Brian) and Karen Friedman (Mark); proud great grandmother of Aaron, Blake, Stacy, Bradley, Erica, Brett, Brandon, and Kayla. Ida was predeceased by three brothers; Dr. Isaac Shapiro, Dr. Morris Shapiro, and Ray Shapiro as well as three sisters; Sally Shapiro, Cele Shapiro and Rose Friedenthal. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. Albany on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery, Guilderland, NY. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Michael and Donna Gordon, 509 Sir Charles Way, Albany, NY 12203 on Thursday following the service of interment and on Friday May 25th from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Those wishing to remember Ida in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Bernard Gordon Fund for the Needy, in care of Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY 12208 or a charity of their choice.
