Obituary for Gertrude H. Bologna Albany-Gertrude Jadwiga Jablonowski Bologna, age 93, was taken by heavenly angels surrounded by her family in Troy, NY on April 30, 2018. Born January 22, 1925, Gertrude was an extraordinary and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. Formerly of West Albany, Gertrude was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, John J. Bologna, and her four siblings, Leo, Henry, Edward, and Theresa. A lover of all things coffee, chocolate, QVC, and The Price is Right, Gertrude enjoyed spending time with family and friends laughing and often cheating at cards during family events. Having meticulous aim with a squirt gun and destroying Space Invaders in Atari, Gertrude was the life of all parties and a joy to be around. Gertrude was a longtime NY Yankee and Notre Dame fan. She loved her family and faith above all else. Gertrude is survived by her five daughters, Patricia Gicewicz (Ernest), Judith Phelps, Regina Ahl (Gary), Donna Cosgrove, and Teresa Boschetti; fifteen grandchildren, Marcus Burnetter, Amy Alcantara, Denise Connolly, Gina Burnetter, Connie Gicewicz, Lisa Behan, Krista Burnetter, Kevin Gicewicz, Christopher Ahl, Daniel Ahl, Stacey Wilson, Elizabeth Junod, Amanda Boschetti, Anthony Cosgrove, and Angela Boschetti; and eleven great-grandchildren, Jack, Caroline, Alexis, Kolin, Korey, Kayne, Hailey, Nyia, Evan, Hudson, and Eva. Relatives and friends are invited Thursday, May 3, 2018 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2018 at 8:45 am in McVeigh Funeral Home, Albany thence to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville, NY at 9:30 am where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
