Obituary of Deanna Chapman Deanna Irene Chapman, 78, of Painted Post passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Deanna was born February 5, 1940. She is the daughter of the late Harlow Glen and the late Delores Myrtle (Bates) Stryker. She married Vincent O. Chapman on March 28, 1959 in Bath, NY. Deanna is survived by her husband of 59 years, Vincent Orlo Chapman, their three children, Kelly, Vince and Jackie, five grandchildren, Nathan, Logan, Carisa, Sydnie and Chase, and great grandchild, Emma. Deanna herself was proud to have come from a large family. She was the seventh of thirteen children, and at a very young age helped her mother with raising her younger siblings. Later in life, Deanna dedicated herself to raising her own children, supporting their goals and aspirations, often times at the sacrifice of her own. Deanna’s love for her country was unwavering, and for many years, she proudly supported various veteran causes. She loved “her” Elvis and each springtime, Deanna eagerly pursued two of her favorite pastimes; trout fishing and flower gardening. Through her actions, Deanna was a shining example for all of us. She was kind, generous, and promoted the happiness of others. She was adored by her husband, Vincent. He describes her as being the most “true blue” person he’s ever known, always positive, vibrant and energetic. Deanna was his soulmate for life. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, May 24 from 2:00PM-4:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00PM with Rev. Troy Preston officiating.
