Marian Bilyk passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at his Bayonne residence. He was born in Zoboriv, Ukraine to the late Sofia (nee: Bartosiewicz) and Michael Bilyk and was a Bayonne resident since 1960. Mr. Bilyk was a butcher for Acme Supermarkets in Bayonne and Jersey City for over 25 years. He served in the Ukrainian Military during World War II prior to immigrating to the United States and was a member of the Ukrainian National Home, Bayonne. Mr. Bilyk is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Bilyk (nee: Prystupa); his loving children, Roman Bilyk and Stefania DeRos, and her husband, Arrigo DeRos, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Francesca DeRos, and Arrigo DeRos III; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dear siblings, Walter and Eugene Bilyk, Natalie Stasuik and Stefania Wovk. The funeral will be conducted by William Kohoot Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2018. A funeral liturgy will take place at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, South Bound Brook. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parastas will take place on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
