Obituary for Margery Parker Mead Margery Parker Mead (nee. Mack), 87 Margery Parker Mead (nee. Mack) passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018, in Jacksonville Beach, FL. She was 87. Margery was born in New York City to L. Alexander and Edith Mack. She was a lifelong resident of Montclair, NJ. She graduated Montclair high school in 1949 and went on to graduate from Wellesley College in 1953. She then undertook graduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Subsequently, she embarked on a round the world trip and spent a considerable time in Japan before returning home. She worked for the Standard Oil Company in their Rockefeller Center office in NYC before meeting her husband in the Montclair Ski Club. They married at Union Congregational Church in April 1963 where she and her husband remained members of the church the next forty years. `She started a family and devoted her time to them. She was a member of the Mayflower Society, and Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Women’s Club of Upper Montclair. She enjoyed travel, the theater (especially Broadway), summers at the Jersey Shore, and spending time with her family. In retirement, she moved to Florida with her husband. Margery is preceded in death by her husband of fifty four years, Arthur F. Mead, Jr. She is survived by her children, (Wm.) Bradford and his wife Ann Marie, and their children, Alex, David and Emily: and Arthur Ferguson III and his wife Fallon, and their children, Darrow, Matthew, Cheyenne and Maren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, William Mead and his wife Marie, sister-in-law Barbara Ahlers; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, at Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Ave, Upper Montclair, NJ. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service.
