June D Whritenour 1933 2018

Obituary for June Whritenour June D. Whritenour (nee Damon), 84, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born in Long Branch and raised in Asbury Park, June graduated from Asbury Park High School near the top of her class. While in high school, she joined the school band, nurturing a love of music. That interest lead to her joining the Methodist Church chorus, which, in turn, resulted in her attending Western Maryland College, a Methodist college. Later, after her marriage to Robert Whritenour in 1965, her love of music resulted in her joining the Garden State Chorus. She later attained the position of Chorus Manager. In addition to the chorus, June took lessons on the organ keyboard and learned voice technique from an opera singer instructor. June is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert Whritenour. She raised a loving daughter, Tracy Cooper of Barnegat, NJ, who presented June with four grandchildren, Marissa, Reannah, Liam and Brielle. Goodbye Juney, We all love you! A Celebration of Life will be offered Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm at Tracy Cooper’s Home, 53 Village Dr, Barnegat, NJ. For information, call Tracy at 609-548-2722. Timothy E.
