PEMBROKE – Mrs. Mary A. (Shine) Richards, 74, of Pembroke, passed away on May 5, 2018 at the Epsom Healthcare Center after a period of declining health. Born in Manchester, Mary was the daughter of the late John Shine and Marie Blushiy. She was a resident of Concord for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a housekeeper for Havenwood Heritage Heights and later at the Concord Hospital. Mary enjoyed gardening, knitting and helping those around her. She especially loved cooking meals for her elderly neighbors and delivering them to their homes. She was predeceased by her husband, Paris Richards and her brother, John Shine. She is survived by her three children: Mark LaValley of Pembroke, Robert LaValley and his wife Ann “Terry” of Pembroke and Michael LaValley and his wife Mamie of Concord. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Marc, Joe, Patrick, Chris and Tim; and eight great grandchildren, Aryanna, Ethan, Landon, Marc, Nevaeh, Blake, Eloise and Annabelle. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, May 10th from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke. Burial will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be sent to The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, Inc. PO Box 908, Bellmawr, NJ 08099.
