Newport, NH-Donna E. Barrett, 60, of South Main Street, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the New London Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Nashua, NH on March 14, 1958 the daughter of Raymond L. and Elizabeth (Trask) Barrett. She graduated from Sunapee High School and later in life graduated from Claremont VoTech with a major in early childhood education. Donna worked at various locations including Barrett Press, Kid’s Place Daycare in Newport, several Child Care facilities such as New London Early Learning Center, Sunapee Cove, and Sturm Ruger. She enjoyed helping people with development disabilities and worked in direct care. Donna loved animals and volunteered at animal organizations. She liked gardening and loved being with her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and a niece, Mary Barrett. She is survived by a daughter, Morgan Whippo and two grandchildren, Nathan and Linnea all of West Winfield, NY; a brother, Butch Barrett of Newport, NH; and six nieces and nephews, Jessica, Jon, Christina, Michael, Bianca and Matthew. Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Lost My Way Animal Shelter, 21 Hartford Street, Claremont, NH 03743.
