Charlie Keller, 67, of Salem, NE, passed away April 12, 2018 at his home. He was born June 24, 1950 at Falls City, NE to Charles and Cora (Ogden) Keller. He married Sandy Elrod-Stevenson on April 1, 2015 at Sabetha, KS. They had been a couple for 37 years. Charlie was raised at Rulo and attended grade school there before attending two years of school in Reserve, KS and then graduating from Falls City High School in 1968. Following graduation he worked for Gulf Fertilizer and then became employed at Butler Manufacturing at Kansas City erecting Ag storage tanks, then for Falls City Meat Company, then worked installing fiber optic cable throughout the United States for Pirelli. He was finally employed by Crosswinds Pet Foods at Sabetha for 21 years, retiring in 2015. He also farmed and ranched as well, his whole life. He was a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska and well as Boilermaker Union local 83 of Kansas City. Charlie is survived by his wife, Sandy of Salem, step-son, Jason Elrod and his wife Britinna of Dawson, NE, sisters, Barb Prater and husband Jim of Rulo, Marcia Simmonds and her husband Donnie of Falls City and a granddaughter, Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John and niece, Christina Simmonds. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Yount officiating. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
