Vera May Southwick Jeffers 2018

Vera Jeffers, an 80 year old resident of Laredo, MO, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her home in Laredo. A visitation is scheduled from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. The body is to be cremated following the visitation. Memorial donations are suggested to the Grundy County Food Pantry and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Vera May Jeffers was born April 16, 1938 in Melcher Dallas, IA, to Clarence Henry and Darlene Bernice (Phillips) Southwick. After raising her six children Vera completed her high school education receiving her G.E.D. in Sioux City, IA. She was well known as a giving person and for her love of indoor plants. Vera was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving relatives include her children David Southwick and wife Paige of Laredo, Duane Jeffers of Laredo, Shelletta McLain and husband Chad of Des Moines, IA, Dennis Jeffers and wife Nichole of Des Moines, Kathy Reeded of Trenton, and Casandra Gathercole and husband David of Des Moines, a brother Vern Southwick of Lacona, IA, 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Those preceding her in death include her parents, brothers Arthur and Carl Southwick and sister-in-law Louise Southwick.
