Edgar “Ed” McDowell, age 69, of Linneus, died Monday, May 14, 2018, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. A graveside service will be Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Laclede Cemetery in Laclede with Pastor Sue Lambert officiating. Memorials to the family (payable to Linda McDowell) may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. Edgar William, Jr., son of Edgar William and Rose Marie (Theno) McDowell, was born October 7, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas. On June 20, 1992, he married Linda Libby. Edgar was a farmer and had a special place in his heart for his animals. He was an upstanding man. Edgar honored his word and was a very caring person to others. He was a great cook and loved to spoil Linda. Edgar was a member of the Boy Scouts and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; one daughter, Mary Levingston of Kansas City; one brother, Patrick McDowell; one sister, Rose Mary Rawls; one brother-in-law, David Libby of Linneus; one sister-in-law, Florence Vancleave and husband, Paul of Auburn, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Helen Skillman and JoEtta McDowell.
