Obituary for Rabbi Sol Serber Rabbi Sol Serber, 94, Chicago, Illinois. Formerly of Waterloo and Marshalltown, Iowa, and Minneapolis. Devoted husband of the late Ruth Serber, cherished father of Carol, Jeff, Steve (Susan), Joel (Barbara), and the late Andrea. Grandfather of Sarah, Pamela, Aaron, and David. Great grandfather of Noah. Sol devoted his life to his family, the Jewish communities in which he served, and helping those of all faiths in need. He was the spiritual leader at Sons of Israel in Marshalltown, Iowa for 12 years and Sons of Jacob in Waterloo, Iowa for 28 years.
