Obituary for Mary and William “Bud” Hanson Hanson, Mary Rita (Kanthak) and William “Bud” Roger of Bloomington MN, both age 79. Mary died on May 16, 2018 followed by Bud on May 17, 2018. Mary was born on January 4, 1939 in Nassau, MN. Bud was born October 18, 1938 in Willmar, MN. Mary and Bud are survived by two children, Lisa (Brad) Smeed of Victoria, MN and John Hanson of Woodbury, MN and 4 grandchildren, Blake and Brady Smeed and Henry and Mae Hanson. Mary is survived by a Sister, Rose ( Bob) Borst of La Porte, Indiana. Bud is survived by two sisters, Marian Ostendorf and Barb Holmberg, and 3 brothers, Earling ( Lois) Hanson, Doug ( Eileen) Hanson, and Mike Hanson. Mary spent most of her career at Dayton’s, Marshall Fields and Macys. She retired from Macys due to her Parkinson’s Disease. She was living at the Masonic Home in Bloomington from October, 2015 until her death. Bud served in the US Navy, worked many years at Control Data and recently retired from Mystic Lake on May 6, 2018, spending over 24 years dealing Black Jack. He retired due to his declining health and recent esophageal cancer that spread to his right lung and surrounding lymph nodes. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 10 a.m., The Church of St. Edward, 9401 Nesbitt Ave. So, Bloomington, MN 55437, with visitation 1 hour before. Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave. So., Bloomington, MN 55420.
