James Jim Joseph Vertin February 8 1944 May 27 2018 (age 74)

James “Jim” Joseph Vertin, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 27, in Minneapolis, after a two-year struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, MN with a prayer service at 7:00 pm followed by personal reflections. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 pm, Friday, June 1, 2018 at The Church of the Ascension, 1723 Bryant Avenue N, Minneapolis. On Saturday, June 2, 2018 there will be a visitation from 12:00-1:30 pm at the Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, 303 5th Street N, Breckenridge, MN with a graveside service following at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Breckenridge. Jim is survived by his daughter, Kathleen “Katie” Vertin-Nevala, his grandson, Tyler Nevala, granddaughter, Ashley Nevala; his six sisters and brothers, Michael, Kathleen Sharkey, Thomas (Diane), Stephen (Margaret), Mary Ann, and John (Marilyn); and nieces and nephews Michael, Joseph, Mariah, John, Vanessa, Megan, Tess, Mishka, Zachary, Marecca, Molly, Joseph, Gerardo, and Alicia. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Kathleen; son-in-law James Nevala and other family members. A FULL NOTICE WILL BE FORTHCOMING.
