Turners Falls- Joseph P. Zangri, 89, of Carlisle Ave died Wednesday 5/30/18 at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. He was born in Lawrence, MA on May 23, 1929, the son of Rosario and Marie (Stella) Zangri. Joe attended local schools in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Joe served in the United States Air Force for twenty years, obtaining the rank of Technical Sergeant. After his honorable discharge, Joe was employed at Aetna Insurance Company for nineteen years until his retirement in 1989. Joe enjoyed golfing, was an avid camper and a Red Sox fax. Besides his beloved wife of 23 years, Carmen “Connie” (Dutil) Zangri, Joe leaves two sons, Joseph and David Zangri, both of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Laurie Reedy; a step son, David Mead of Springfield, Ma; a step daughter, Tina Pinal of Florida; two step sons, Tim Vitalis of Cape Cod and Neil Vitalis of WA; a brother, Rosario Zangri of Lawrence, MA; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his first wife, Wuanita Zangri. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 6/5 at 10am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Millers Falls. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
