Obituary for Casey Odell Carr Casey Odell Carr Funeral services for Mr. Casey Odell Carr of West Monroe, LA will be 10:00am Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe with Rev. Jimmy Masters officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Columbia, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Monday, May 21, 2018 at the funeral home. Mr. Carr was born on March 16, 1930 to the union of Walter and Eva Carr and passed from this life on May 18, 2018 in Monroe, LA at the age of 88. Even though dementia took its toll, his sense of humor remained until the end. Odell served in the United States Air Force before becoming a master pressman for the newspaper. He retired from Columbia Chemicals. Odell and his wife of 67 years, Miriam, loved to travel, attend bluegrass music festivals, and work in their church. After retirement, they spent every summer in the mountains of Alaska, Colorado, or Wyoming. He was a member of Souls Harbor where he sang bass in the church choir. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, W.J., Ira, Lorraine; two grandchildren, Vicki Carr and Jonathan Carr. He is survived by his wife, Miriam; two sons, Bendel and Aaron and wife, Darlene; three grandchildren, Lee, Jason, and Blake; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Jaxon, Ben and Hattie Brooke; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
