Robert C. Godsey, 93 years of Council Bluffs, passed away at the Northcrest Living Center May 23, 2018. He was born February 16, 1925 in Norton, Kansas to Orie and Anniene (Rathman) Godsey. He graduated in 1942 from the Millard High school and served his country in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked repairing TVs for 25 years and drove a bus for the Metro Area Transit 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lyla D. Godsey; his two daughters, Sandra Cerveny (Gil) and Sheryl Knutson (Douglas); sisters in law, Arlene Schroeder (Richard) and Carol Suhr; 9 grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, Ryan, Joshua and Lucas Cerveny, Chad Godsey, Jeremie and Joel Knutson, Shanda (Godsey) Monahan; 18 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, 11:00am at the Timothy Lutheran Church, 3112 W. Broadway. Interment will be in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 186th and Q Street in Omaha. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Northcrest Living Center Activities Department. Funeral attendees should use Avenue A and 31st Street to access the church as Broadway is under heavy construction.
