John Nelson Clouse October 5 1930 April 28 2018 (age 87)

John Nelson Clouse, beloved husband, brother and uncle, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 28, 2018. A native of Lee County, VA, he was born October 5, 1930 to Maurice Bascom and Birdie Elizabeth (Weston) Clouse. John was a member and deacon of Lone Branch Baptist Church and exemplified his deep faith in his every day life. For a time, John lived and worked in Michigan for Frigidaire and Kelsy-Hayes. He served 2 years in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and was acting sergeant when discharged. John remained in the reserves for a time after his active duty. The bulk of his work career was spent at Lanningham Oil in Pennington Gap, VA. On May 12, 1956, John married the love of his life, Ruth Seals, and made their home in the Jonesville area. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Birdie and Bascom, sister Mary C. Whatley, and brothers James and Mark. Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth, sister Dorothy C. Chance of Jonesville, brother Maurice Clouse of Cayuga, IN and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. It was Johns request to be cremated and the family will announce service details at a later date.
