Kenneth E. Stewart April 17, 1933-May 28, 2018 Mishawaka-Kenneth E. “Kenny” Stewart, 85, went on to “Glory” on Monday, May 28, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was laughing, joking around and having a great time when his heart just stopped beating. Kenny was born on April 17, 1933 in Bremen to Elmer and Lucille (Mattern) Stewart. On August 30, 1963 he married his wife, Rachel who survives along with two sons, Jim (Marcia Kay) of Elkhart and John Stewart of Mishawaka. He was proceeded in death by his stepson, Jeff Young. Kenny had three grandchildren, grandchildren, Shawnna (Tim II) White of Mishawaka, Michael Stewart, who passed away in 1998 and Lisa Stewart also of Mishawaka. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Janis and Ethan White, Timothy III and Alex White and Kaileigh Lyvers. His brothers and sisters are Elise Zumbaugh, Anne Ruliey, Betty Morgan, Melvin “Pete” Stewart and Edith Garner. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Harvey Stewart and sister, Georgia Crandall. Kenny worked at Ball Band which became Uniroyal, all of his life. Kenny was an electrician, “Mr. Handyman” to many, a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, butcher, auto mechanic, farmer and the best husband you could ask for. He attended East United Methodist Church where he loved to serve the Lord and helped take care of the grounds by mowing the yard and did maintenance projects. Family and friends are invited to join for funeral services on Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m., with visitation two hours prior at. East United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East United Methodist Church, 1621 E. Third St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
