Obituary for Joan A. Biddiscombe Joan A. Biddiscombe, age 81, of DeMotte, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 24, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Jeanette (VanGorkum) Glaum. On August 31, 1984, Joan married Thomas Jerry Biddiscombe. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2015. Joan was a graduate of Bloom High School, Class of 1954. She worked in advertising for Leo Burnette Advertising Agency and as a bookkeeper at the Bank of Homewood for 6 years. Joan loved flowers, tending to her garden, sewing, and most of all she loved being with her grandchildren. Joan is survived by her children: Michelle (Todd) Boerema of Wheatfield; Mark (Elizabeth) Swaffer of Cedar Lake, IN; step children: Bryan (Winnie) Biddiscombe of Florida; Betty Jane Long of Colorado; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, William John Glaum Jr. Friends may call at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM.
