Obituary of Helen Sinclair Helen M. Sinclair, 86, Marion, passed away in her home at 8:51 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018. Born in Sims on December 15, 1931, Helen was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lilly L. (DeCoursey) Thomas. Helen graduated from Swayzee High School in 1950 and, on June 1, 1951, married E. Allen Sinclair. She received her bachelor’s degree from St. Louis Institute of Music and devoted her life to teaching piano and being a homemaker. She served as a church pianist for over 70 years. Helen was an avid quilter and could make the best homemade pies, which her family and friends always looked forward to eating. She thoroughly enjoyed watching birds, and she loved nursing animals back to health. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Allen; children, Edward (Retee) Sinclair, Minonk, Illinois, Amy (Jose) Perez, Marion, and Elizabeth (Christopher) Dodson, Marion; grandchildren, Jonathan (Kate Morgan) Perez, Marion, Jeremy (Kate) Perez, Marion, Maria Sinclair, Clinton, Illinois, and Cristina Sinclair, Clinton, Illinois; 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters, JoEllen Lefeber, Marion, and Nancy (Jim) Harris, Marion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanna Sinclair, and a sister, Doris Duckwall. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Services to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
