Cannelton, Indiana Estel M. Harrison, 80, passed away May 28, 2018 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, Indiana on August 2, 1937to the late Edward and Mabel (Eades) Harrison. Also preceding him in death was his step daughter, Catheryn Throgmorton; grandson, William “Billy” Harrison; sisters, Nora Lindsey and Anna Faye Kellems; brothers, Herman, Gary, Rick “Larry” and Joe Harrison. Estel had worked as a logger, did construction, worked on the railroad and at the former Schwab Safe. He was a “junker” and liked to fix things and clean copper. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and cookouts with family and friends. Surviving are his children, William “Buddy” Harrison, Lincoln City, Estella “Sis” Wilson, Dillsboro and Susan Gas, Owensboro, KY; step children, Patty Lyons, Tell City, James Bishop, Troy and Tammy Golike, Tell City; a sister, Mary Tindall, Dale; brothers, Archie Harrison (Mary), Tell City and Junior Harrison (Mary), Hardinsburg, KY; eight grandchildren, Melissa and Shaun Harrison, Joey Wilson, Chris and Eric Gas, Mathew Weatherholt, Jeffery Miller and Heather Terry and 14 step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Joshua and Sierra Kennedy, Addie, Alysia, Gunner and Loxie Gas and 15 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, June 1, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Bro. Steve Faulkner will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Gilliland Cemetery, near Derby. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Animal Shelter.
