Obituary for Dorothy B. Kennedy Dorothy B. (Knuth) Kennedy, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Rensselaer, Indiana on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Dorothy was born in Decatur, Illinois on January 2, 1928, the daughter of Edmund Robert Knuth and Alma Marie (Lorenze) Knuth. Dorothy moved to Rensselaer in 2001, formerly residing in Markham, Illinois. On June 2, 1950, in Decatur, Illinois Dorothy married Joseph V. Kennedy. Dorothy was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, Indiana. She enjoyed doing craft work, working puzzles and loved to treat herself to a Pepsi Cola. She was a retired Chemist, having worked over thirty years with Onyx Chemical. Dorothy cherished time spent with her family. Surviving are five children, Joseph V. (Debra) Kennedy, Hugo, Colorado, Cheryl Kennedy, Illinois, Donna (Rick) Cook, Yucaipa, California, Edmund (Lori) Kennedy, Wheatfield, Indiana and Mike Kennedy of Mary Esther, Florida; 15 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, a brother, Eugene Knuth, Texas, a sister-in-law, Ilene Knuth and brother-in-law, Leo Stephas. Preceding Dorothy in death are her father, Edmund R. Knuth, mother, Alma Knuth, step-mother, Esther Knuth, husband, Joseph V. Kennedy in 1996, daughter, Sandra K. Kennedy, grandson, Michael Kennedy II, two sisters, Rhoda Knuth and Judy Stephas, and four brothers, Theodore, Melvin, Donald and William Knuth.
