Cecil D. Sills, age 71, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 8:59 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Cecil was born August 13, 1946, in Paris, TN, to Ila Hubert and Alice Tina (Robinson) Sills. He graduated from Central High School. Cecil was a member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ. He worked as a truck driver for the Vanderburgh County Highway Depart and retired after 30 years of service. Cecil loved fishing, playing the guitar and reading the bible. He was an avid Rook Card game player and loved watching Westerns and listening to blue grass music. Cecil volunteered at the church and really enjoyed being around people. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Peggy (Heitzman) Sills, son, Rodney (Amanda) Sills of Evansville, sister, Doris Marie Brown, of Ocala, FL, brother, Ralph Lee (Dorothy) Sills, of Subiaco, AR., grandchildren, Isaac L., Caleb E., and Phoebe K. Sills. He is preceded in death by parents. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Stephen Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Memorial Contributions may be made to Washington Avenue Church of Christ, 4001 Washington Ave, Evansville, IN 47714 Condolences may be made to the family online at boonefuneralhome.net
