Peter W. Smith, age 86, resident of Lombard since 1958, formerly of Glen Ellyn passed away on May 7, 2018. Beloved husband of Helen F. Smith. Loving father of Mark (Mary Ann) Smith of Chandler, Arizona, Sandra May of Glendale Heights, Michael (Michelle) Smith of Lombard and the late David (late Julie) Smith. Dear grandfather of Jennifer (Andrew) Simon, Timothy (Jennifer) May, Sean (Kelli) May, Michael (Rebecca) Smith, Nathan, Rachel, Kimmy, Theo, Gabe and Malachi Smith. Great grandfather of Toni and AJ Simon, Lorelai, Garrett, Joshua and late Matthew May, Arthur and Alida Smith. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Peter was a 1949 graduate of Glenbard High School, Glen Ellyn, a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a manager for Culligan Antibacterial Laboratories since 1964 and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11th, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM with funeral service to follow at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn. Entombment at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, IL. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60606.
