Peggy L. Alongi, 81, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Parkway Manor in Marion. Peggy was a retired District Merchandising Supervisor for Distribution Services Incorporated doing audits at the local Kroger stores. Peggy was born March 13, 1937 to Raymond and Luzill (Hudson) Colp in Herrin. Peggy was married to Richard “Dick” Fogle. He preceded her in death in May 2006. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela & Randy Higgins of Herrin; son, John Alongi of Herrin;… Read More » five grandchildren, Chantel & Carey Bailey, Zack Riley, Jon Ryan Alongi, Sarah Jo Alongi, and Jessica Rena Alongi; son-in-law, John Riley of Herrin; sister and brother-in-law, Fay & Bill Carey of Herrin; two nephews, Brad & Patricia Shannon, and Scott Shannon. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Peggy Riley. Peggy’s wishes were to be cremated. A private graveside service will be at a later date at Herrin City Cemetery.
