Obituary for Kevin Dailey Kevin L. Dailey, 60, of Jacob, passed away at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at his residence in Jacob, Illinois. Kevin was born on July 10,1957, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Houston Dailey and Alice (Bardmess) Dailey. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Dailey had worked for at least fifteen years at the Illinois Department of Transportation in Highway Maintenance. He enjoyed spending time with his family and liked to BBQ. He loved to ride motorcycles. He collected Native American artifacts. He used to go hunting. Kevin married Bena Sue Ticer in July of 2002, in Murphysboro, and she survives. Other survivors include three daughters Jennifer Bailey of Murphysboro, Heather Tackett and her significant other Greg Beasley of Elkville, and Rebecca Mifflin of Murphysboro; five step children Sherry (Kerry) Johnson of Rockwood, John Cox of Carterville, Allison Hickam of Murphysboro, Joseph Hickam of Vergennes and Ashley (Mario) Riggio of Elkville; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; two brothers Mike Dailey of Elkville and Dennis Dailey of Murphysboro; and three sisters Karen Bush of Herrin, Vicki Evans of Murphysboro, and Kim Varnum of Ava. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog Black Jack, four grandchildren, one brother Wayne, and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home, with Rev. Cecil Dunning officiating, military services conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127, and visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. During visitation, the Patriots Guard Riders will stand a flag line to honor this veteran.
