Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Moore, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:14 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at her home. She was born October 25, 1930 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Frank Schuch & Mary (Spitzer) Schuch, both of whom preceded her in death. She married John William “Bill” Moore on June 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Jean Battershell-Pretz; and by her brother, Danny Schuch. She is survived by her daughters… Read More » & sons-in-law, Susan Kerr (Robinson, IL), Patty & Terry Rafferty (Taft, CA), Jane & Stephen Fore (Midland, TX); by her sons & daughter-in-law, John & Shelly Moore (Taft, CA), and Scott Moore (Taft, CA); by 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; by her brother & sister-in-law, Jerry & Marsha Schuch (Forest Park, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Robinson High School and went on to earn a diploma from the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse for 30 years, most of which was spent in the Crawford Memorial Hospital obstetrics department. Outside of work, Betty enjoyed traveling and camped all over the continental United States. She also spent countless hours outside, both in her garden and on her many long walks. More than anything, however, she loved spending time with her family and was especially enamored with her grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Robinson. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery, rural Annapolis, IL. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Effingham Catholic Charities or to the “NOW Program”, a program that sends supplemental food home on weekends with a number of students in the Robinson School District. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
